Fun at my house in May

May was a busy month, but we found time to have fun too.

 

When Brett's family came for a visit Andrew showed us his beater licking techniques.

Daisy likes to smile - specially when Elden plays with her.

The apple tree has become the favorite climbing tree. I don't worry too much about Elden and Mark, but Clark gets himself into some scary situations sometimes. However, he is determined to keep up with the big boys.

The sandbox is still a favorite and the sand is even still in it.

We launched rockets in May. Here is Caleb. He was the first and the only one I got with the camera. I forgot after that. Oops!

More Catch up - Ranchester in March

In March we went to Wyoming to "help" Brett and Leslie move into their now home. Actually they were already moved in when we got there so we just played with the kids. What fun! The last morning before we left I got this family picture. Isn't it great? What I failed to get was a picture of their new house! Hopefully they will bring some photos to the reunion.

 Looking out their back door and across their back yard, you can see their "playset" - the elementary school playground. That is Mark in the blue coat at the left and James on the slide. They have a pretty fancy playset in the "back yard"!

Trying to Catch Up

This spring David and I have traveled all over the place and I have taken so many pictures, but I haven't gotten around to blogging any of them. So, this is my catch up blog. 

 

The first of May me and my sisters went to BYU Women's conference together. We had a great time.

 

I took this photo on March 31st looking out my back door. It was the last gasp of winter I think. The day before we had been out doing yard work.

I had a great Mother's Day. Thanks for all the cards. Shanalee brought me this homemade lava cake. It was YUMMY! I have need to repent because I didn't even share it.

 

At Jim's wedding we took this impromptu family picture after everything else was done.

After Jim's wedding while still at the temple we just happened to run into one of our Chinese Study Buddies. She lives in Washington and just happened to be in Boise and we just happened to be in the same place at the same time, and Lyn just happened to mention to her in passing that her sister (me) was going on a mission to Taiwan, and she just happened to volunteer the information that she was a Chinese teacher and so Lyn got us together. Lots of just happenings. It was great to meet Pearl in person.

I never blogged about Todd and Bethany coming home from Thailand. They are home and I thought I should show you all. This picture was taken at Jim's luncheon.

We celebrated Alena's 3rd birthday and I got these cute photos

 

We went to the HALE Theater again . . .

. . . and this time we took some special people with us. For Christmas we gave Mom and Dad Schwieder their choice of shows. They chose Arsenic and Old Lace. Tammie and Shanalee also wanted to see that show so we all went together. What fun. Of course we had Daisy (still nursing) with us so Rob very magnanimously offered to tend her during the show.

Saturday morning we decided to try a new experience and had pedicures. I think I could get addicted easily!  I chose the purple with white flowers - aren't they pretty?

Daisy thought they were pretty. She liked my toes best!!

On the way down we stopped at the church office building to turn in some Taiwan Visa things and we walked around Temple Square. Grandma loved the tulips. Isn't this a wonderful picture of grandma and grandpa?

We had a great time - I'm sure you can tell by these expressions. Daisy was not so sure about it all - Is this really my mom and aunt?

A word about our mission call

           

It was very exciting to open our mission call. 

Dad was kind enough to let me open it. 

Thank you to everyone who joined us. It was

so nice to to share this moment with family, both 

here and on Skype. We are excited to go to 

Taiwan, though I am also quite nervous. 

David is thrilled with the call! We are working 

hard on our Chinese with the MTC, by Skype.

The schedule is quite stressful, but will only 

help us in the long run.

We appreciate all who joined us either in person or by Skype - it was lots of fun!

This is my mission count down chain. I take off a link each day and the last link will come down the day we enter the MTC. According to our schedule we will be in the MTC for 3 days before we travel on to Taiwan. I guess that is why we do language training by Skype for 4 months. We can't wait to get our name tags!

We have a new baby!

Yes! We have a new baby. But not a name for that baby. Tiffany and Kyle are thinking hard. The kids are trying to help with many suggestions. Even Dad is making suggestions (but no one liked Gertrude).

Welcome to our family little Whitney!

Isn't she beautiful. One of the nurses is in their ward and donated the hat. You can't see her hair, but it is quite dark and doesn't seem to be red at all. Maybe Hailey will have a sister with her color of hair.

I did go to Mississippi because of a new baby, but I sure had fun with all the other kids.

 David and I ate lunch at school with Zachary and Eric the day of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Eric dressed up as Horton the Elephant and Zachary was a Zizzer Zazzer, Zuzz. (See Dr. Seuss' ACB's)







We spent some time at the area parks.

Baby Sabrina was the biggest hit. More popular than Dr. Seuss, lunchtime with grandpa, playtime at the park, or even Father Abraham. Everyone loved Sabrina.
