David & Gwen Schwieder Family: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving - great day!

Today has been a very nice day. I am so grateful for my life and all you marvelous people who make my life wonderful. I love you all. I started with a picture of our house lit up for the Season. Dad turned the lights on tonight. I am so grateful for David. He is simply the best.

I can't possibly post pictures of everything or even everyone I am grateful for so these are some of my favorite photos from two weeks ago when many of you were visiting.

The girls (and Elden) were having a great time exercising to "Mousercise" and Todd was demonstrating his new tap dance abilities. It was great. I'm grateful for healthy kids.

Today my dad said "I am most grateful for your mother and then for all the family. Family; that's all that really counts." I agree, and the Lord agrees too. The whole Plan of Salvation is designed to get Heavenly Father's family back to him. My family is fantastic. I really love you all. (I'm also grateful I won our game of phase 10 tonight. I creamed them!)

David and I have been happily married for 39 years. We have the 6 best kids in the world who have turned out to be quite exceptional adults despite having us for parents. And to make it even better, these 6 exceptional kids have married 6 exceptional spouses. Thus it stands to reason that our grandchildren are also exceptional. (I am really not prejudice, this is all true) David and I love life, each other, and the Lord. We are currently serving a mission in Taichung Taiwan and loving it. We miss our 21 grandkids but trust their parents to do a fine job rearing them without us there to help.

We are so grateful to all those wonderful people who have been important in our lives and had such positive influence on us and our children. Thank you.

Sun. Dec. 5 - 9 hours (building, decorating and making more gingerbread)
Sat. Dec. 4 - 6.5 hours (more building & decorating)
Fri. Dec 3 - 8 hours (building & decorating)
Thur. Dec 2 - 3 hours (began putting walls together)
Wed. Dec 1 - 3 hours (poured the candy windows)
Tues. Nov. 30 - 1 hour (made, baked and cut one more batch of gingerbread for a total of 17 batches)
Mon., Nov. 29 - 1 hour (finished baking and cutting)
Sun., Nov. 28 - .5 hours (made more gingerbread)
Sat., Nov. 27 - 3 hours (more baking and cutting)
Fri., Nov. 26 - 3 hours (continued baking and cutting gingerbread pieces)
